The South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), Mtito-Andei Campus is located in Nthongoni Location, Mtito-Andei Division- Kibwezi Sub-County of Makueni County. It is about 5 Kilometres before Mtito-Andei Town along Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. The campus lies on 20 acres of land in a serene environment conducive for learning. Its immediate natural features include Chyulu Hills and Chyulu National Park to the west, Yatta Plateau and River Athi to the east, while Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks lie to the south. This strategic location along an international highway and proximity to tourist attraction sites offers the campus an opportunity to adopt a twin-pronged approach of pursuing academic excellence as well as tapping on tourism and hospitality industry.
The premises upon which the South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), Mtito-Andei Campus sits was constructed with funds from the Ministry of Education under the Economic Stimulus Project as a Centre of Excellence. It was officially handed over to SEKU by the Minister for Education on 9th November 2012. The facility comprises of administration block, four (4) lecture halls, library, kitchen, hostel, laboratory and three (3) ablution blocks.
The key mandate of the campus is to train, research and community service. The campus produces graduates who are capable of applying their well acquired knowledge to complex situations which they face and are challenging to their lives.
The campus’s programs are tailor-made to fit students' career choices and job market demands. The Campus offers a number of academic programmes that are approved by the University Senate. These include:
